Seasons of Life

Piano concert composed and performed by Antonija Pacek

27th June at 9:30 p.m. / Sponza Palace

Special guest: Lidija Begić, tourist guide

Presenting original, cinematic compositions from her newest album Seasons of Life, Antonija will play the following music: If Only Time Allowed, Springtime, Winter Waltz, Summer Tale, Fall Train, Dreaming, Life Is…, Lost and Found, Sadness, Lost, Sofia and Spur of a Moment. With her music, Antonija will be setting the scene for celebration of the 750th anniversary of The Statute of Dubrovnik.

For the latest album, Seasons of Life, the four seasons of the year and our life during the pandemic inspired Antonija to musically express some of the parallels. Springtime was not necessarily cheerful, as many people were not happy during the past spring due to the course of the pandemic. However, the melody is interwoven with hope and is characterized by a sense of uplift, or awakening, mirroring nature during the springtime. The snowy winter and snowflakes that fell that day turned into a melodic waltz full of fantasy and hope for a better future (Winter Waltz). Last summer Antonija wrote Summer Tale, a composition inspired by the sea, that summer feeling, some inner peace when she is with her family in their summer house on Lopud. This composition is truly cheerful in nature. Fall Train was inspired by a dream of trains during the colourful fall season – that night she was searching for her daughters in the carriages of a train… For the first time ever, she was inspired by her own dream. Dreaming is dedicated to all of us who are dreamers, suggesting that we should never stop dreaming. Life Is… is a musical vision of what life means for her. Life consists of ups and downs, learning and developing, simply beautiful and intense moments.

This music comes directly from the depths of Antonija’s heart and soul. She is a romanticist with a soft spot for minimalism, and rich melodies.

Come, daydream and lose yourself in cinematic music stories…
