The Marlene Dietrich ‘monoshow’ premiered 25 years ago, on December 18th, 1999 at the Foyer of the Croatian National Theatre in Split. In the meantime, Ksenija Prohaska performed her show more than 500 times in five different languages (Croatian, English, Italian, Spanish and Czech) in more than 20 countries on five continents, including on Broadway in New York in the celebrated La MaMa Theatre, in Los Angeles, in Pittsburgh, San Pedro (US), at international festivals in Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, Venezuela, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria and Italy (Rome, Venice, Trieste, Gorizia, Pescara, Lecce and Barletta).
Ksenija Prohaska portrays famous actress Marlene Dietrich not as a celebrity she was, but as a real woman dealing with complex life problems, through the motives of her marriage, love, show business, relationship with her daughter and war. The show consists of 11 monologues and 13 songs.
At the 2005 international festival Cividale del Friuli in Italy, Prohaska won the Premio Adelaide Ristori for best actress. Audiences all over the world have always been overwhelmed by the brilliance of Ksenija’s interpretation of Marlene Dietrich, to which numerous national and international awards can testify.
