This year’s edition of Midsummer Scene is enriched with a series of events supporting the main production that is headlining the Festival.
We are collaborating with The House of Marin Držić – the museum dedicated to the greatest Croatian Renaissance playwright, to announce another important milestone next year: 450th anniversary of his death. In the year of Shakespeare anniversary we are annoucing The Year of Marin Držić with an evening entitled Shakespeare Meets Držić.
Actors from the Hamlet ensemble will perform scenes in English from Držić’s greatest comedies on 28th June at 8 pm in front of The House of Marin Držić. Admission is free.
The photographer Bari Goddard opened his exhibition on Festival at the Croatian Embassy in London this year. He has photographed our production of Twelfth Night and Dubrovnik by night. The exhibition entitled Midsummer Scene / Night Dubrovnik will be held at Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiques, Široka Ulica 2 from 19th June till 6th July, coinciding with the performances of Hamlet at Fort Lovrijenac. Admission is free.
